![]() This post is overdue, as I recently connected with two amazing women; One named Raven who started the The Free Your Mind (FYM) Project which seeks to highlight women of color doing powerful things in the world! Her blog is amazing ! I also recently connected with an amazing yogi named Sandra Thornburg ! You can check her beautiful poses out at facebook.com/yogawithsandrathornburg. Both women, so passionate about their purpose to empower others through an exchange of powerful messages and energy, it makes me ponder, why can't this be a norm? I remember when Beyonce's "Run the World" was released. There was a dichotomy between individuals who felt empowered and were all "YEaaaaah!" and another group, very socially conscious, who thought, "Umm Beyonce, what world do you live in." For one: I don't think by any means we run the world, if so the global economy would look differently, political relations would look differently, and many human injustices, such as sex trafficking, and female mutilation, would cease to exists. It has been researched, that the more women are educated in a nation, the higher the economic index.( An awesome read for you would be Half The Sky by Kristoff and WuDunn). Secondly: The US and the World are two separate entities. I do believe women in the US have many freedoms that women in other nations could not conceive as possible, nonetheless...I do believe that women are powerful, and could be even more powerful if they lift one another up. What I know for sure is that BE! is not only committed to teaching self love, but I'm committed to connecting with female entrepreneurs and leaders across all sectors. If we are all trying to empower one another, and live our best lives, all of us needs each of us, and each of us needs all of us. I think this mindset of scarcity of opportunities for women has created an energy of unnecessary competition. Everyone can be number 1 in their own lane. Whatever you do, when you do it authentically, there will be people that are attracted to your authentic self. I may relate to Sally different than I do Jesse, but that doesn't make Jesse any less powerful. Impact should not be determined by your money or social media following. There's impact made everyday, and when you send positive vibrations into one woman's life, she will likely do the same for another, and its a chain of paying it forward. Learn to lift up, empower and support others. For what you do in the absence of return, will undoubtedly be received 10 fold plus. Give and support for the beauty of just doing so; A revolution does not occur by the doings of just 1 person, but by the interlocking of arms of many. Learn to reach out and support one another, and we could undoubtedly rule the world with love, compassion, and understanding for all! Reach out to at least 3 women, compliment them and acknowledge what they stand for as people. If you're on social media, maybe give a shout out to their business, or direct a friend or 2 to like their business page! BE Empowered- Written By: Tiffany Wright |
