![]() Recently, I saw the movie, The Fault in Our Stars, and let me say, it was was not only a tear jerker, but a really spiritually transforming and thought provoking film. For anyone into love stories, miracles, nature, history, and the mere appreciation of life, you would absolutely love this movie. It was a big deal. With so many meaningful metaphors, it really shined light on our obsessions with perfection. The perfect life, career, relationship, and all around existence. We live thru life with so many romantic-like idiosyncrasies ( I am absolutely guilty) about what should happen or our expectations. When in reality, there is so much possibility in life, we could never fathom the infinite combinations of existence that will occur in our life. Every day, every moment, every second, one decision can lead to an infinite amount of reactions, so from day to day, moment to moment we must choose to just BE! and consider what road of infinite possibilities do we make? It's an intriguing idea that every thought, decision or action can absolutely change the rest of our lives, but in those very decisions, we can never know the impact. You will never know. You can hope, wish, pray, be responsible, be healthy, be positive, but no matter what you will never know. You can "do everything right", but still never know. It's an understanding that we have much control, but no control at the same time. So do what you can, with what you have. Move through life with love, acceptance, and the knowing of all possibilities. Life and death occur alongside, light and dark, as well as good and bad, health and illness and of course love and hate. Depending on where one is on their journey of mindfulness, it can be a really loopy concept, but to me, it makes life more appealing; more exciting. Everything, at the end of the day is unpredictable. We BElieve that the world and our lives are single handedly controlled by us, but we are connected, and all events are attached to a long chain of happenings, even before our existence. When you can truly understand the difference between what you can control, and being open to the possibilities of the unknown, their is a peace, a stillness, a state of BEing present that may consume you. There is no perfect. Let it go. You are as perfect as you want to be, until you want to change. Your circumstances are as perfect as they are until you do something to change them or they somehow change by another agency. Stars are not always as BEautiful as they seem because in reality, they are just big burst of gas emitting light, and it's our attachment to perfection, that makes them more than what they are.
