![]() At times, we can be so clear about what we want, who we want to be and who we currently are in life, but God and Universe has bigger ideas and a greater sense of truth. Consider when you're focused, when everything seems to be going well, and bam! Life seems to rear-end you. You're shaken up by illness (physical or mental), an important relationship is tested, or you lose a job or something of great material value to you. Sometimes the jolt in our lives don't even have to be that extreme. It can come from a still small voice within, and the jolt can be reflection and questioning of our purpose, our maladaptive habits, and certain relationships. Whatever the case, when changes small or large occur, and something within your soul is shaken up, its usually God telling you, its time to grow my child. It's time to leave a behavior, mindset, environment, or person behind. It's time to step into something greater. It's time to BE something greater. It's time to transform into your next stage of life. When you get the sign, instead of resisting change, learn to surrender to growth. Surrendering to growth is about taking the time to reflect and go through the uncomfortable internal transition of realizing your inner and outer world don't match up or are not matching up the way you desire. Surrendering to growth is about taking accountability of where you are and how you got there, while allowing God and the Universe to work through you and create space for something better. Still in reflection about a trip I took to Arenal, Costa Rica in February, I am constantly in awe with nature everyday! As spring is in full effect, I admire the flowers in full bloom, the hummingbirds and butterflies in flight, and all signs of the season's change. We humans, are the only living specimens resistant to change. We want and expect everything to stay the same, while obtaining what we want, and that is not the natural order of life. Nothing in this Universe stays the same. Matter is constantly moving. Something lives and something dies. Cells multiply. Growth is necessary and if you resist it, you are choosing to die. You are choosing to kill your purpose, your impact, your potential, your health and ultimately your joy. The only thing constant in this life is change. So when that unhealthy spirit in your life shows itself will you force yourself to embrace it and keep it around ? or will you finally get to the point that you accept it may be time to separate your self from it? Will you get to the point in which you realize you don't have to endure that job that drains the energy and joy out of you, and walk away? or stay because you fear what's next? Once you surrender to growth, I mean completely surrender to growth, know that it may take time, and at times may be uncomfortable, but I assure you, when you emerge from your cocoon, you will be in awe of your wings.
