Stillness.
Intentional stillness. The state of clarity and groundedness that must be created internally. Ideally it can be pursued in silence or with minimal noise and activity around, but in a busy life, one can find stillness in the midst of pandemonium. Its the ability to connect to one's breath and practice mindfulness about not only our internal state, but also what's going on around you externally. You must CHOOSE to BE Still. You must CHOOSE to BE calm. You must CHOOSE to connect to your breath, not be reactive and be present. Peace. The creation of peace. Not the "search" for peace but the creation of peace. You cannot search for something outside of you which already is present within you. Peace may be dormant, but its within you. Joy. The presence, feeling and connection to joy. Not happiness, but joy. Happiness is an outward manifestation of the internal state joy. Joy rings deep in your soul. Its an experience that could be had, even without smiling. Contentment. The beautiful contentment that comes with a sense of gratitude, not the contentment that leaves dynamic beings "stuck" in one place because they lack a thirst for more. Love A sentiment, experience, and state that is so expansive, elusive and limitless that the greatest artists, poets, and philosophers have attempted to define it. Its a condition impacted by others as well as your perception and connection to yourself. Its a sense of security, trust, acceptance and connection to yourself and others. These are states of BEing that seem to make life brighter and elevate the human experience. These are also states that have little significance in Western culture and seem to become focuses for us only when we realize worth, balance, peace, joy, contentment and love actually cannot be found in the assumed vehicles for an elevated experience like our careers, electronics, cars, clothes, and physical aesthetics. We see stories of individuals everyday who "have it all" but they feel alone, unloved, invisible, anxious, worried, and depressed. You owe it to yourself to connect to your highest self. You owe it to yourself to become your best self; everyday that looks different but no matter what, strive. You owe it to yourself to MAKE the time to be alone and connect to yourself in silence. You owe it to yourself to understand what YOU NEED; what you're body, mind, and spirit needs. You owe it to your self, love yourself, love on yourself, and honor your self as much as possible. As you honor your self, your light shines, and the world gets to receive the best of you. Self love is not just a benefit for you, its pursuit is a benefit for any and everyone around you. You want life to be better? You want this world to be better? Choose to love yourself and in your pursuit, you contribute to more than you know. BE Love, Tiffany W. |
