Greetings and Happy New Year BEautiful BEings!
It has been a while since I have posted something and I must admit, even though I have not been posting, I sure enough have been writing. Writing for me, writing for you, and writing for the world. Why the break? I had to take time to get clear. I got to a point, not only of frustration, but also monotony. I had to become clear as to why I was writing and what the purpose of The BE Life was. What is the value of taking time to get clear? Well for one, I believe it's important to take moments from time to time, to consider WHY you are doing what you do? If your WHY is not strong enough or if your WHY is not driven by passion and a balanced well intention, I believe its time to step back. Even though I love writing and am passionate about producing content that would be equivalent to a sit down convo with my girls, it was important for me to chill so I wouldn't feel like writing was an obligatory task. Obligation stifles my creativity and authentic expression and I was definitely starting to feel my own internal pressure to make sure I was producing content if not every day, at least every other day. The world (in my head) would be affected by my inconsistencies and "The BE Life" would never be the platform I'd want it to if I wasn't constantly posting. Well I'm glad I took a break because I realize that crap was Bull... Clearly the world is still going and I haven't received any angry messages about my short sabbatical. A renewed lesson on the value of taking a break: We are not superhuman...we are human and its ok to re-energize. Its also ok to question or doubt what you're doing, only to commit to closely examining what you're doing and what you would like to do. Clarity in tasks and clarity in purpose is a driving force of productivity I any realm. When clarity is present, so is intention, and a convicted mindset. A made up mind is more effective in manifesting desires; and don't we want to be in a place where we our constantly manifesting our desires? Clarity allows you to cease the internal chatter and stop comparing your processes and outcomes to others, as well as experiencing the deadly trap of belittling. So I ask, what is it that you need to get clear about? Are you clear about what life you want to live this year? Are you clear about the relationships you have and if you have the desire for more, what type of relationships do you desire? Are you clear about how you feel about your self? Are you clear about what its going to take to get you to the next level in your life? No better time than now, as you're reading this, to begin or further marinate on some of these questions. BE Clear~ Tiffany W. The first commandment of self love is: Honor Thyself.
What does that mean? It means to accept, acknowledge, recognize and take with pride, everything that you are. What makes us who we are?Our choices, our thoughts, what we decide to be, our experiences, our beliefs, and whatever composes our mind, bodies and spirits. For some people it’s easier to focus on the parts of their being that seem untouched, un-phased, un-wounded. The other parts, are typically ignored or looked at with shame; the SCARS. Scars are the result of healing. An imprinted reminder of a painful experience. They can also be a consequence of an incident that resulted in major change, whether natural or not. Scars can be seen and unseen. They can be physical or emotional. Far too often women are ashamed of their scars and today I ask you, may you choose to Be Proud? Be Proud of your scars, whether physical or emotional. They tell a story and are a shadow of your beauty. With an obsession for perfection, women are ashamed of stretch marks, acne scars, moles, facial birthmarks and bruises. Too ashamed to wear certain pieces of clothing for the fear of judgement, ridicule, or glances you may get from someone else. In the end, does it matter? If you lost or gained weight, had a baby, have marks from conditions like chicken pox, or whatever else, that is YOUR experience and has nothing to do with anyone else. You had that experience and you know what, millions of other women around you have had the same experience. You are human, change happens, scars occur. Embrace them, and proudly include your scars in your story. What about the scars no one can see, but you walk around with shame because of their occurrence? An abortion? Infertility? Trust, hurt or abandonment issues due to a relationship? Sexual assualt? Emotional or Psychological Abuse? Self-imposed disappointment? Do you realize how much extra weight you carry in your body because you resist as oppose to embrace these incidents? Embrace does not mean you are happy or joyful that these events happened to you, but you accept that they are a part of your journey and you can continue to live. In Christianity there is the notion that God will give you beauty for ashes. It’s a beautiful concept and life truth, that once you give up what you deem as dead, hurtful, ugly, or negative, life will be more beautiful. Your spirit will be more at ease. Your mind and body will release whatever you’ve been holding on to. We as women let the invisible scars keep us away from love in platonic, familial or romantic relationships. We let them become barriers to walk in our purpose when in actuality, embracing and accepting these scars can bring us closer to our purpose. We let the scars keep us away from a life of abundance, opportunity and fullness. Release the fear. Release the shame. If you are reading this, you are still here. You are strong. Those scars are sign of healing. Once you’ve healed, you have to give yourself permission to be more, do more, love more, and think higher of yourself and what life can offer. Your past experiences shape you, but they do not define you. You define who you are. Walking proudly with your scars allows you to live in a space of freedom. Walking proudly with your scars gives someone else the power to be free. BE Proud~ By: Tiffany W. Humans share a lot of characteristics. Bones, organs, opposable thumbs, communication skills, and basic emotions. There is more that connects us than distinguishes, but let's be really clear, everyone does not think or act the same.
In a world of similarities, there are outliers. Outliers are those who don't necessarily operate in the same capacity as others, for different reasons. The extremely mentally ill, artistic geniuses, the super wealthy, social movement leaders, tech genuises, inventors, and spiritual/mindfulness leaders. These people's lives are a reflection of what's going on in their heads. With that being said, you may be one who thinks and acts differently than many around you. At times it can be frustrating because you may be misunderstood or even ridiculed. If you're a big thinker, a dreamer, and a visionary, others will confront you with doubt. If you are on a serious journey of love and higher thought, people may call you unrealistic. Embrace it. Yes you can be an unicorn while still accepting others views and behaviors. One idea that many people have is that their way is the only way; the right way or the best way. Their way of living, speaking and especially thinking. I have a friend who acknowledges that they think outside the box and they think for themselves, but if you attempt to show an alternative perspective, they're extremely closed. The greatest minds know that there is more they don't know. When you ever get to a place in life that you feel you reached the pentacle, it might be time to surround yourself with different people and a new environment because you don't know what you don't know, and you definitely don't know that there's a different perspective that will push you. Embrace who you are but be conscious not to let your ego be bruised by the judgments of others neither let your ego become too inflated to believe there's no other way to think, live or be beyond your own understanding. BE You~ By: Tiffany W. There's a whole lot that in occurs in our lives everyday. We`ve all had situations and circumstances that could have derailed our lives. We've been through major transitions that have brought about feelings of ambiguity, joy, sadness, excitement, and even disappointment. Despite all that, one thing that remains constant, is that change occurs, and we are present for it all. So when we can choose to respond and sit in feelings such as anger, sadness, doubt, distrust, or discontent, we can powerfully choose to live life staying full of love and hope.
What does that look like? Well that is you staying in the moment and being still in the moment while choosing to balance not only your expectations but also how you choose to honor your self, mind, body, spirit, and stay in a place of forgiveness; you know, abiding by the 5 commandments of self love. See, love really has the power to transform life and all that you choose to see. Think about it. If you've ever been in love or have known someone who's been in love, you know everything experienced is different. Love has an effect on how you smile, interact with others, and even what you truth you decide to see in life. Well, romantic love isn't the only love with life-changing impact. So is self love, and just a centrally spirited sense of love in general. While others around you choose to worry about being good enough, the evils of the world, the amount of wealth accumulation they have (or for most of us, the amount of debt), and why it's a good reason to not trust others or believe there is even good left in this world, you can choose a different perspective. You can choose love and hope. Yes there are inequalities, dangers, hurtful people, and many barriers that exist in the midst of a possible great life, but at the end of the day your attitude is the determining factor. Consider the perspective that there is a life of abundance, a life if love, a life of possibilities, a life in which you can make a difference, a life that you're worthy of attaining or at least going after. Cutting your self off to the possibilities of life is not one reflective of choosing to honor your self, mind, body,or spirit. Self love is more intricate in living a great life than most people consider. So today, this week, every day and every week, work on choosing to activate a feeling, perspective and walk of love and hope. I guarantee life will not only feel better but it will be better. BE Love~ By: Tiffany W. You are a Spirit BEing. All the love, answers, and direction you need is INSIDE OF YOU. Looking for fulfillment thru others and thru things will not complete you. As women, our strength is in our ability to love, nurture and connect. Far too often we're trying to love, nurture and connect to others, yet neglect ourselves. You are your first priority. No matter what you're life's obligations are, the center of your being must be put first. As you understand the importance of mindfulness, trusting yourself, and being aligned, you'll see how important the 5 Commandments of Self Love are. ( Honor Thyself, Honor Thy Mind, Honor Thy Body, Honor Thy Spirit, and Forgiveness). Remember that fear is natural but courage is a choice. Walk, run and live thru your fears because on the other side of fear is a life you deserved. Afraid to use your voice? Do it. Afraid to say no and set boundaries? Oh please do it. Afraid to leave behind the people, environment or job that traps, starves, or diminishes you? Do it! Happy Self Love Sunday BEautiful BEings! BE Love, Tiffany W. It's #fearlessfriday wooot woot!
Let go of fear, and hold on to FAITH! Have Faith in yourself to be bold, courageous, and free enough to live YOUR life how YOU WANT TO! Question: Why are people so afraid of BEing themselves? Others opinions can be so impactful on your life if you let them, whether you see them as positive or negative. But what about just going with your own gut? What about taking your own risk? What about finding out what joy and success mean to you? At the beginning and end of the day, YOU get to deal with YOU; your thoughts, emotions, habits, fears, wishes, goals, discomforts...thats all you. Understand for every action there is a reaction, and everything we choose to do or not do in this life affects someone else, but if you're living to appease others, that's a limiting way to live. People will disagree with choices you make and that's ok. It's your life and others don't have to understand. Want to start a business? Do it. Want to get a makeover? Do it. Want to move to another location? Do it. Want to leave everything behind and travel the world? Do it. Want to try a new hobby that seems out of your comfort zone? Definitely do it. Want to change career fields? Do it. Want to step out of the box you and others have put you in? Do it! The first commandment of Self Love that I discuss in my book BE Love: Daily Intentions Guiding You to Self Love is Honor Thyself. Well it's difficult to really love yourself if you don't A. Know who you are B. Allow yourself to just BE C. Can't connect with that commandment because you're looking at yourself through other's eyes. Get your mind and spirit aligned. Learn to follow your spirit and intentionally connect to who you want to be and what you want to do with this life! BE You~ By: Tiffany W. As "BE" drives to promote a message of women embracing, accepting and loving their full selves, it's a celebration when stories about empowerment and body positivity make it to the headlines. For years, there always at least one video or picture that goes viral showing the dramatic "transformation" that Photoshop Editors drag a magazine or advertisement photo through. The exposure of such practices, have recently created more and more conversations about how "unrealistic" images of women are in the media, especially in print. Such conversations have been crucial in creating a sense of transparency around what it means to really Honor Your Body. The first step, acceptance.
I do very well believe we are in this space of transparency when it comes to real women and their relationship with their bodies and those seen in media. It's a fuzzy space though. See, the road seems to have several paths. 1. An obsession with health and "fitness." I put fitness in (") because while many women live a healthy lifestyle to be healthy, there are women who feel the need to overdo their fitness to fit in an ideal. They feel the need to "push themselves" because that's what all the memes say... -_- . As a wellness advocate, I believe living a healthy active lifestyle can transform your entire being, but if you embark on it and you are constantly on the scale, comparing yourself to others, and being hard on yourself, it really defeats the purpose. 2. "Curvy" has been equated to extreme hour glass figures. The Idealization of entertainers like Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, and Kim Kardashian create this body ideal that most women will never meet unless they indulge in cosmetic enhancements. 3. Then their is the full blown Body Positivity movement! Even though social media sucks a lot of millennials into this vortex of comparison (which has monstrously negative effects), there are many positive accounts that promote self love and women loving everything there is to love about their bodies. Now, the heat is being turned up a notch! Major modeling agencies and magazines, are slowly but surely loosening the reigns when it comes to the images they portray. Granted, we have a long way to go, progress must be celebrated. Within the last week, the 3 ladies above have been celebrated for breaking out, embracing themselves, and being representatives of the "average" woman. In a world that says, get this sucked in, tucked, clipped, or removed, they stand to be themselves. They are proof that walking in your truth may not always be easy, but it is always worth it. Making sure to Honor yourself, body, mind and spirit, is an absolutely liberating journey to a life of Freedom. When you learn to accept and just BE yourself, the Universe responds. The light, the God in you shines, and you attract such a magnificent life. SO let's embrace these women, and embrace ourselves. Just by them BEIng them, they have broke barriers. The average woman in the US is estimated to be a size 14, so even though Ashley Graham is actually more "normal" than plus, its a start. Cheers to BEing You! Happy FEARLess Friday! BE You! By: Tiffany W. Is there something you've been wanting to go after and try, but you just keep talking yourself out of it? You know deep down inside it's something you should be going after because there's a tug on your spirit. Well...just go. Just Do It! Even when you doubt yourself, when you feel afraid, and especially if you're uncomfortable. All it takes is one step, then another, and then another. Convincing yourself is 90% of the battle.
People who have a weak connection with their spiritual selves, and allow their minds impose too much on their lives, tend to live in confusion and are indecisive. Clarity occurs when you know how to silence your mind and allow your spirit to guide you. " If you'll become a confident, decisive person, you'll accomplish a lot more with less effort."- Joyce Meyer Look, this life is meant to be lived with you giving and receiving love, joy and abundance. You will get what you want when you learn to surrender and give away whatever you're supposed to give. We are all blessed with different talents, passions, purposes, and ideas, but unfortunately most of those blessings go to the grave. They never see the light of day because their vessels lived a life of fear and may have walked away from their purpose because of doubt, confusion or even past mistakes. "If you feel that God is prompting you to give something away, help someone out, or make a change in your life, do it! Take some action and sow seeds of obedience."-Joyce Meyer Guess what, everything doesn't work out how you want it to and even when you want it to because you as a person must be molded and formed to be the right person at the right time to be the poster child of that vision, purpose, passion or idea. Timing is everything, and even if what you want doesn't pan out when you want it to, keep going, everything will always work together. I've never considered writing for a living and because of this blog not only do I have my first devotional book, but I'm working on second book now. Amazing things happen when you honor your spirit and walk in obedience. Choose faith over fear because there's an amazing life on the other side of what you can't see. So today, I want you to look at your vision board, your list of goals, your journal or wherever you capture those dreams, goals, visions, etc. I want you to declare favor and ask your higher power to direct you in the way to share gift. What you seek is seeking you and it will find you if you stay open. Make steps this week towards what you want. BE Fulfilled~ By: Tiffany W. You have a moral and spiritual obligation to share your gifts and walk in your purpose. Like...it's a REEEAAAALLLY big deal.
Think about it. Have you ever watched an interview of your favorite entertainer, leader, motivational speaker, athlete or entrepreneur? If so, do you notice when asked about how they got a point of notariety or even into their line of work, they often respond along the lines of " I'm not different than anyone else." They are human but realise they found the answer to a common problem, fear and it's cousin, doubt. They realized that their great idea, vision, or passion really paved a road to understanding their purpose here on Earth. They tapped into it, developed it and shared with others. Now becaus3 they shared, you have someone to look up to and admire. What if they never shared? It's not to say you have to or even need to be a well known person to make a difference with your gift, passions, and purpose. You just have to BE You and share. Its imperative because 1. You never know who's life you can absolutely transform 2. You never know who will take away key memories of the realness of your work, speech, invention, business, story, etc. 3. The more you give, the more you receive 4. You will a sense of peace and joy like no other 5. The service we provide to others is the price we pay while occupying this planet 6. You, your vision, your story, your experience, your talent matters So if you're keeping something inside of you, you should really work on letting it go. Creative talents, great ideas, a book, a movie, or any talent, you HAVE to share, enthusiasticslly, authentically, and without expectation.
