There is something very special about understanding or beginning to understand the value of self love.
Just like any new concept or object brought to awareness, you look for (unconsciously and consciously) opportunities to acknowledge its presence around you. When you get a new car, "all of a sudden" you see that car everywhere. When you learn about the objectification of women in the media, you see it EVERYWHERE!
When you begin exploring areas in which you can love yourself better, deeper, and stronger, you are more aware of the opportunities that you can take to take care of and honor yourself. I love the concept of recognition. I believe its very important because people should be acknowledged, not for validation, but to build one another up.
In todays social media land, recognition can be so important, its what creates social media celebs. Its what boost real life introvert's self esteem. Its also what creates habits of comparison and obsession with others. Today is Wednesday, and Wednesday is known as Woman Crush Wednesday aka "wcw". Its a collective opportunity for folks to acknowledge women they admire, think are beautiful, may be infatuated or in love with.
Today, I was thinking. I RARELY see people crush on themselves...Why is that?
Yes its #wcw but instead of checking out who others admire, choosing a woman to crush on, or wondering why no one chose you, consider acknowledging, honoring, and admiring yourself.
No one knows your story like you. You are here. You are vibrant. You are purpose filled. That is a reason to love yourself. That is a reason to crush on yourself. You are your own kind of beautiful and that beauty runs deep. Give yourself the love and recognition you would want someone to give you.
You deserve to praise yourself. Its not about being conceited. It's about pride in your light, your effort, your strength, and your dedication to living. Love on yourself. I'm so sure you don't do enough of it. It's ok to say, I admire myself. I am proud of myself.
