For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
There is almost nothing more important on this journey of BEcoming than learning to let go.
The ancient African village says it best, "It takes a village." In reference to raising a child, but also in understanding that we do not exists in entirety alone, and we need a support system. When you are raised or experience life to the degree that you feel you are alone or must be independent, you get to a point in which that changes. You get to a point where you realize, you have to depend on someone else. Most of us women today feel the need to be extraterrestrial superwomen. Careers, volunteering, young familes, entrepreneurship, health, school and relationships are common jugglers. When most of us come from a single or divorced home, themes of independence trail in the foundation of our development.
In the confusion of life, peace is always welcomed and warranted, and sometimes its our village that are the deliverers and angels of peace. Angels are real, and we have them all around us. We have beloved ancestral spirits around and protecting us, but we have individuals walking around us, both known and unknown who help us everyday. BE open, aware, and thankful for the ones that love you. BE loving to those who support you, and even those who just reach out for support. We all need eachother because life is challenging, and it's not meant to be lived alone. Think about how often you had to join a team activity growing up? Team membership is the way of life.
Next time, you feel discouraged, stuck or challenge, search for peace by not only speaking to yourself about the truth of your existence, but reach out to that friend or family member that offers peace and support. Reach out to your angels because in our times of need, whether they know it or not, they will bless you. If you don't believe you have those people around you, I assure you, you do. Be open Just as you acknowledge your angels, make sure to be that person that loves on and supports others. As you give, you will surely receive.

Sometimes life can get tough. You work hard and may not directly see the fruit of your labor. Sometime we forget our passions. Sometime we feel lost. Well for those times, I believe in keeping youraelf surrounded with words that encourage. I have a file with hundreds of quotes I've collected over the years. Here's some of my favorites.

Remember, no emotion, feeling or trial is completely unique. Someone around you or in the past has lived a parallel experience and can always offer words of encouragement. Find a way to encourage yourself. If anything, remember you deserve to live in joy. Remove judgement, guilt and doubt and learn to live. Stay uplifted by putting powerful quotes in your room, bathroom, kitchen, workspace, etc.

In today's edition of throwback Thursday, I want to acknowledge and give respect to the beloved social and musical icon that is Nina Simone. This morning, I came across the song
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood and thought she would be a perfect example of what self love is. I grew up listening to her because she was a favorite of my mother, and her soul has always seemed so powerful.
Nina Simone was born in 1933 and was a singer, song writer, pianist, and social activist most known for music which took on elements of jazz, blues, folk, and gospel. She broke boundaries, and her career lasted over 2 decades before she passed in 2003. She sang about the true human experience: romance, relationships, heartbreak, joy, sadness, sexuality, feminism, social stratification, colorism, and even racism. With more
Her presence was unique because she heavily promoted cultural pride and self ascribed beauty, but she always included her whole audience which consisted of all backgrounds. From her afro, to the ebony hue of her skin, to reminscing on the experiences of blacks in the deep south, she wanted the world to embrace her and the black experience. She was a mirror to what healthy consciousness could look like. We could all take pride in and love ourselves, whilr being respectful and unifying one another. In the 60's and 70's she stepped out as a civil rights activist.
"That moment when God tests you the area of life you've been "studying for" and you past with flying colors.God is a healer and deliverer."- a facebook status of mine today.
Forgiveness is an act of love. If God is LOVE, then love is a healer and deliverer. If God is in us, it is truly self love that conquers all. The greatest moment happened to me recently. I came face to face and voice to voice with a previous source of strife in my life. In the pass, I'd confess I was fine, only to feel rage, anger, resentment, and regret when tested. But recently, I passed.
Any hurt or lack of love experienced previously by me, had dissipated. After that moment, I realized the wound was healed, and I gave thanks and truly acknowledged my journey of love. The wound was healed not miraculously, but thru consistent work and labors of self love. It's only the light of love that can out shine the darkness of "hate" and any of its derivatives. When you are so in love with yourself and life, negativity has no space in your spirit. It's like oil and water; there will be a natural separation. The light of true self love repels darkness that may have the potential to overcome it.
The outcome of working to heal is a blessing. All the positive messaging, audio, imagery, and feelings experienced, keeps your spirit in frequency with such matters is only aroused. We all have different stages of self love to experience. We also all have different lessons and openness to receiving those lessons. Feelings likr hurt, dissapointment, etc. are all subjective because we allow to affects us. These feelings are neither good or bad, but when they exists, if unmanaged, they can bring darkness in our world or prevent light from shining. When you overcome such feelings, life shifts. Your spirit radiates and you are blessed in abundance.
It's easier said than done but make daily efforts to infuse your mind and spirit with light so you may drive out and repel darkness. When you remove the darkness, you will feel light as a feather and as powerful as a gentle elephant.

Being Love and Giving Love makes the world a better place.
There is no such thing as too much love. In actuality, the world needs so much love, it seems that we are in a deficit. We could always be more encouraging to those around us. Reaching out to people that we are close with or may not even know, and just giving encouraging words really adds value to the life of others. When you add value to people, you add value to the world. When you add value to the world, you are in turned blessed.
Whether someone appears to be "in need" or not, sewing positivity into another, can truly affect their momentary disposition, and possibly there world. We are here to love and care for one another. Of course, it's hard because as we experience our own storms in life, it seems to emotionally draining to give up the little hope we have at any time but it makes a difference. Research even shows that giving (whether emotional or physical) to someone in need, boosts our own mood. There is always room to share love. It is our greatest Be fearless and love on someone!
